Rainy River Solar Project

In 2014, CC&L Infrastructure partnered with the Rainy River First Nations to construct three solar facilitates in northwestern Ontario (approximately 65 km west of Fort Frances) with a combined production capacity of 25-megawatts – or enough clean energy to meet the needs of over 3,900 households.

This project highlights our collaborative approach to working with local stakeholders to bring projects online in a manner that is accountable to the environment and neighbouring communities. It has served as an important model for how private capital can partner with First Nations groups to complete mutually beneficial investments. In recognition of this achievement, the project was nominated for a Game Changer Award by the Canadian Solar Industries Association.
